Our process
- 1
Call our 24/7 line
Tell us where you are and what lock you're facing. We give an arrival time and a price band over the phone — no waiting for an engineer to 'quote on arrival'.
- 2
Non-destructive entry first
In 95% of lockouts we open the lock using picking, bypass or specialist tools — leaving the lock intact and reusable. We only drill as a last resort and only with your permission.
- 3
Replace or upgrade
If a replacement lock is needed we fit insurance-approved BS3621 (timber) or TS007 3-star (uPVC) hardware to keep your home insurance valid. All hardware carried in-van.
- 4
Key handover & paperwork
You receive working keys, the old hardware (your property), and an itemised invoice. Insurance-claim work is documented to the format required by major insurers.
FAQs
Locksmith questions, answered.
- How much is an emergency lockout?
- Standard non-destructive entry is £95 + VAT during the day, £145 + VAT between 22:00 and 06:00. Price is confirmed before we attend — no inflated 'quote on arrival' surprises.
- Will you damage my door?
- In 95% of lockouts we open the lock without damage. Drilling is a last resort, only used when the lock is already failed and only with your express permission. Even then we replace the cylinder, not the whole door.
- What is 'lock snapping'?
- A burglary technique that snaps cheap euro-profile cylinders in seconds. If your uPVC door has a standard cylinder it's vulnerable. We upgrade to TS007 3-star or Sold Secure Diamond cylinders to defeat the attack.
- Are you insurance approved?
- Yes — every engineer is MLA (Master Locksmiths Association) approved, fully insured, DBS checked and CRB cleared. The hardware we fit meets BS3621 or TS007 3-star as required by most home insurance policies.
- Can you change locks between tenants?
- Yes — block bookings for letting agents and landlords get same-day or next-day appointments. We supply matching keys, document serial numbers and email a service record per property.
